Celebrate 10 years of The Urbanist at our biggest gala.

We are thrilled to announce a special fundraiser and celebration to mark the 10th anniversary of The Urbanist! Over the past decade, The Urbanist has grown from a humble blog into a powerful voice advocating for better housing, transportation, and urban living in Puget Sound and Washington State. This milestone is a testament to the incredible impact our community has had on shaping the region.

Join us Thursday, December 5 at the historic Stimson-Green Mansion for an evening of celebration, reflection, and community. The VIP reception will feature a champagne toast and an opportunity to mingle with key supporters and contributors to The Urbanist.

The main event will include hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a short presentation – including a look ahead at our future plans. Regular tickets are $100. (VIP tickets include admission to the main event.)

Event Details:

The Stimson-Green Mansion is a beautiful historic venue owned and operated by the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation. Built in 1901, the eclectic First Hill mansion combines English Tudor and Gothic revival style architecture. Food will be prepared by award-winning caterer Kaspar’s. The venue is well-served by transit, including the brand new RapidRide G Line on Madison Street.

Reflecting on our 10th anniversary, Owen Pickford, the founder of The Urbanist, shared: “Seattle urbanists can be thankful for many incremental wins over the last decade. But many urbanists may also feel discouraged. 10 years [after founding The Urbanist], the root problem still seems the same.”

Pickford continues, “Would you know about these losses without The Urbanist? Would you know about solutions?” Over the last decade, it has become clear that our community needs “an explicit and sustainable urbanist media outlet.” Our community needs The Urbanist.

As we celebrate this significant milestone, we want to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported The Urbanist over the years. Your dedication and passion have been instrumental in driving positive change and making our region a better place to live. And much work remains to be done. Together, we can build a brighter future.

Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate with us and contribute to the continued success of The Urbanist. Space is limited. Get your tickets now.
