Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Olmstead in Capitol Hill for a party to kick off Ride Transit Month.

The Urbanist is excited to partner with the Transit Riders Union, Seattle Subway, and the Transportation Choices Coalition to host the first of many events for Ride Transit Month. The event will have hosted appetizers starting at 5:30pm and a brief program featuring speakers from a few local organizations starting at 7:00pm.

It’s a great chance for transit advocates to connect, catch up, and mobilize ahead of some big fights later this year, such as passing Seattle’s transportation levy renewal and keeping Sound Transit 3 light rail expansion on track.

In addition to this event, Transportation Choices Coalition will be hosting a Ride Transit Night at the Ballpark on Friday, June 14th, encouraging Mariners fans to take transit to the game, Drag Transit Trivia on Tuesday, June 18th, and a Lunch and Letter Writing Workshop on Wednesday June 26th to Defeat Initiative 2217, a conservative ballot measure seeking to repeal the Climate Commitment Act and imperil billions in infrastructure funding.

Other events may be added throughout the month, so be sure to check The Urbanist’s Local Events Calendar for more opportunities to connect. The Urbanist’s monthly meetup is moving to fourth Thursdays, so the next one will be June 27 at Stoup Capitol Hill from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
