Last Saturday, The Urbanist and CityNerd had the honor of hosting a bike ride on Lake Washington Boulevard for the last weekend of 2023 that the linear parkway, which frequently devolves into a motorist speedway, was closed to cars. One of the attendees was Best Side Cycling, a vlogger with a YouTube channel who highlights various bike routes in the Greater Seattle area — “especially focusing on new bike infrastructure, trails, and hard climbs.”
Best Side Cycling’s footage and commentary was another encapsulation of how great Lake Washington Boulevard is when it’s pedestrianized. Thanks for joining us!
The Urbanist, like most Seattleites, supports pedestrianizing Lake Washington Boulevard year-round. Visit the Seattle Parks engagement hub on “Lake Washington Boulevard Renovations Project” or email project lead, Jordon Hoy (Jordan.Hoy@seattle.gov), to voice your support for a safer boulevard.
