Another month, another meetup with The Urbanist! Our meetups are open to all and free to attend, so come by if you want to meet us or get into the weeds of urban policy. We’ll be at the Belltown Pub on Wednesday, February 15th, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. You can find us in the loft space just beyond the bar area. Our guest speaker will start at 6.30pm.

DATE CHANGE: Please note this event is a Wednesday, rather than our usual Tuesday, in observance of Valentine’s Day.

AUDIO: In response to your concerns we’ve successfully implemented a new sound system for our guest speakers.

Our guest speaker this month is John Burbank, Executive Director of the nonprofit Economic Opportunity Institute (EOI). John is working to restore the constitutionality of a statewide income tax.

Before founding EOI, John was project manager of the Sand Point Community Housing Association, political director of the Washington State Labor Council, staff coordinator for the Washington State Senate, and director for the Community Labor Coalition in Rhode Island. He has a faculty appointment with the Department of Health Services at University of Washington as a Clinical Instructor in Community-Oriented Public Health Practice. He has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington and a B.A. from Evergreen State College.

We hope to see you there!

RSVP on Facebook.
